Thanks so much for sharing!

A few years ago, I found a 200 year old Nova Scotia census record for my ancestor, a descendant of Zaccheus Gould of Topsfield, Massachusetts. The record listed James Gould, his son William Gould, and his son-in-law James Boutelier; details included their jobs, height, eye color, and whether they were fit or not.

I was grateful to find the information, and I used it to prove my lineage as a descendant of Lieutenant James Gould, who survived two bullets at the Battle of Saratoga.

Genealogy is a journey, not a destination.  I am grateful to the officials who open these records and the volunteers who help make them accessible.
