Connecting Whonsbon's from Tasmania/New Zealand to the tree. I have failed so far.

I started with an orphan unconnected and have ended up with a whole family group and still no connection to the main tree.  I have found them an interesting project but have failed to get them connected.  Ruby is where I started and find it interesting that she was a bridesmaid where the bride (not a Parry) was given away by Mr W Parry (miner's union/1st NZ Labour gov member) and she later married a Parry but I have not found the connection between those two Parry's.  And her illegitimate half brother ended up as a Rev and missionary/writer.

I anyone has any insight, feel free to help me out.;-)

Kylie, I assume you have seen this https://teara.govt.nz/en/biographies/3p12/parry-william-edward.

Could Henry Charles be a brother or a cousin, given his age? If so, could he be born in NSW Australia?

There is a will probate mentioned on Archway. Is it on FamilySearch? I can’t see a Military Personnel File in Archway, so I’m unsure if there is an NZ WW1 record as suggested by Marion below.

There was a Henry Parry born to John and Emily in NSW in 1885. I bet he is WE Parry’s brother.
Sounds hopeful, I'll need upskill on Aussie records, I know the basic ones, love the Tasmanian Name Index! I am actually getting tempted to buy his marriage printout but will try a few more avenues first.
Sometimes I wonder how I missed some things!!! I have come across an article - first hit- on Papers Past even though I have spent hours trolling through looking up Parry and Whonsbon and there it is - W E Parry and Henry Charles (Harry) were brothers!

Woohoo! I’d love to know how Paperspast Search works. This has happened to me several times. I’ve tried everything, then moved on to the spouse and up comes the proof I was looking for. It’s a good feeling. The 1885 NSW birth is likely to be the right one then.

Have you tried searching for name variations as the name Whousbon seems to appear in the records and the writing is often hard to decipher.  Also found a Joseph Whouston married to Catherine Dillon (convict) in 1853.

Yes, I noticed that and the Whonsbon family have filled out well but finding other links to the tree have been difficult.  I'll keep trying and hope something crops up.

This is the link I found for Joseph and Catherine, not sure it will lead anywhere but you may find some links for Catherine that could be useful.

For future reference, the Tasmania Pioneers Index is a handy one for early Tassie genealogy - http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?search=8

I can't find Joseph's birth yet, but a Joseph Whonsbon married Jane Prosser in 1845 at Launceston. I'll keep looking!

I'm sure I'll have great fun on that website, cheers.
Ok - here he is - Joseph 'Wansburn' born 1854 at Longford, son of Joseph Whouston and Catherine Dillon - http://portal.archives.tas.gov.au/menu.aspx?detail=1&type=P&id=298000

It's only an index, but it looks good.
I've got some people from that area of Tasmania on my husband's tree. I'll see if I can find anything to link up to the Whonsbons.
Papers Past has now confirmed they are brothers (W E Parry and Henry) Ruby's husband.  Seemingly the parents are Emily Wright and John Parry.  W E Parry is connected!!!!!!  That means they all will link in.Yay!
Congratulations! Great work.
Btw - Joseph actually died at Scone in NSW of consumption. - https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/161607524

I'll update his profile and add the sources.
