As I was tracing one of AJ's cousin's family I found a link to the Romanovs (yes, those Romanovs). AJ's Great Grandmother's Gertrude (Kingsbacher) Sunstein's sister Florence was married to William Frank. William's mother Tinnie (Klee) Frank was the sister of Hattie (Klee) Straus. Hattie's daughter Harriet Straus was married to Vladimir Rachevsky. Vladimir's sister Zinaida Rachevsky was married to Grand Duke Boris Vladmirovich Romanov (now you see the Romanov's). The Grand Duke Boris was son of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovitch who was the brother of Alexander the III. Alexander the III was the son of Nicholas the II as was Anastasia Romanov (Grand Duchess). Anastasia is 15 steps away from AJ based on this path. P.S. any history buffs that like to add cool details and bios to these profiles would be welcome to do so.
This is extraordinary! Bloody marvelous, as my British cousins would say. Thank you Ron. You are a hero. I've always been fascinated by the Romanovs. Now I know why. I'll have to have my kids rent Anastasia (though I'm not sure the Disney version is totally historically accurate)
This is awesome!
I'll now take a moment to be the voice of the European Aristocrats Project, since this might spur people who aren't familiar with the project to start working on these royal profiles. The WikiTree style rule is always to use their conventions instead of ours. That means that the Romanovs should have the last name Рома́нов (for men) or Романова (for women).
So, I'll ask that anyone who's going to be doing any merging or creating of EuroAristo profiles please work with the project on this! That's what we're here for. :)
