My great grandfather was William Goodwin from Hartford, CT

Question

He had a daughter, Edith born 1925 and a son Bill born 1927. William's wife was Irene Chandler, but she took off when Edith was 3 years old. Can anyone give me any info on my relatives?

This one will be hard to follow and required a LOT more confirmation.

From familysearch.org.   It appears from census data, that Edith Hatch was the dau of Charles Hatch and Mary J Parsons and that Mary J Parsons was the dau of Philip and Hannah Parsons.

I also appears the William Goodwin, b abt 1904/5 might be the son of Walter B Goodwin, son of William and Octavie Goodwin and Edith Hatch ( Adams). It appears that Edith Hatch eventually married a Charles Adams?

I'm not sure that these are my great and great great grandparents. William Goodwin was Married to Irene Chandler. Irene's mother was to the best of my knowledge Edith Hatch Adams. I heard that Edith Hatch Adams was a bootlegger who had a mansion in West Hartford and Long Island. William Goodwin had two children, Edith L Goodwin born 1925, my grandmother and Bill Goodwin born 1927. My grandmother grew up mainly in Somers with a woman by the name of Grace Stebbins. But when she was very young lived in either or both Hartford and West Hartford. Thats about all I currently know on this. Appearantly Edith Hatch was remarried and was previously married to a Chandler.

Although, I might have something wrong. Edith Hatch might have been my great great grandmother on my great grandfathers side, not my great grandmothers side.

At some point it appears that Edith Hatch, dau of Mary J Hatch, married a Goodwin.  She is living with her mom in 1910 as Edith Goodwin. 

So the Goodwin children in this 1930 census with the Stebbins family, could be the children of Irene?. And in 1930  Irene Goodwin is living with the McDermotts?  

This will obviously take some time to connect the dots.  Cannot locate the Chandler name anywhere.  Unless Irene was not married to Chandler  when Edith J and William were born in the mid 1920's or she married him later in life??? Or her mom Edith had a very busy social life!!!

Irene's maiden name was chandler, she married or had children with, anyways, William (maybe Bill) Goodwin. I'm told my grandmother, Edith Louise Goodwin (later Tonon, then Domorad) had a grandmother named Edith Hatch Adams. I thought this was her mothers mother, but it might have been her fathers mother. Huh, some of this looks accurate, some seems strange. Thank you for the help by the way!

Maybe if you put all the Edith Hatch/Adams side on a chart it will make more sense.  I think the William Goodwin living with her at times and elsewhere at times was her grandson, and it could be that Irene was her "daughter in law", (atleast for a brief time)?
