That is not always the case, Wayne. I have seen several people marked private while helping to add sources to profiles, who could not possibly still be living. I have a couple in my own tree, who passed recently, only because of the sensitive nature of the family members. I will change those profiles when I feel enough time has passed that the sensitive family members will have accepted the passing and won't get upset. Wikitree prefers that people who are not alive be marked private, but even they cannot control who is marked private if the person has obviously passed. There is a disclaimer that states that non-living persons should not be marked private, but the profile manager must make that choice. Great to see you on wikitree!
