For example, if a person is born Russian with the surname Павлов but then married someone non-Russian, for example English and moved to England, should the name be written as Pavlov or Павлов?

Hey Eduards, Great question.

First off I would refer you to the language volunteers for their take on this:, http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Language_volunteers

The last name at birth is essential to placing your profiles in the right place.  If you think your audience is more likely to speak and read Russian, post it as Russian.  Then post the english spelling in the other names field.

If you think your audience is more likely to speak and read English, post it as English. Then post the Russian spelling in the other names field.

Good luck and I would like to know what the language volunteers suggest!  Mags

Well the last name at birth is obviously in Russian: because the registered name is in Russian, because it 's at birth, because we try to follow their rules, not ours.
It doesn't depend on the audience.

But best would to be able to have LNAB (in local language) and LNAB:en (in English), etc..., just as OpenStreetMap.org does: World maps are in local language, but you can request the English names if you prefer too.

Lets search for Washington, D.C.: http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/158368533 amazing, isn't it?

I agree with the rest.
