That’s 29 th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry.
Jackson County, enlisted at age 18 on 31 August 1861. Mustered in as a private. Wounded at Allatoona, Georgia on or about 5 Oct 1864. Returned to duty on an unspecified date. Promoted to Sergeant prior to 16 December 1864 when he was wounded in the chest and/or head and captured at Nashville. Hospitalized at Nashville. Transferred to Louisville, Ky., 27 January 1865. Transferred to Camp Chase, Ohio, where he arrived on 3 February 1865. Released at Camp Chase on 13 June 1865, after taking the oath of Allegiance.
