Trying to locate my brothers obituary

Question

My brother Carlos Rolando Lopez Escobar died in Salta Argentina between 1976 & 1979.  Was it reported in the obituary/newspaper?

No he was born in Chile but never made it out of Argentina during the coup.  I was born in 76 and only have few photos with him.  My parents moved to the uk in 78 i think

You could Contact Argentina,likely he had a death Certificate.

El Tribuno is a newspaper in Salta which was founded in 1949 and is printed in Spanish.

They could have the obituary of your brother.

Hi, I'm from Argentina. I'd like to help you but it's really very few data. Very hard years to research. Do you think he died in Salta city, or Salta province?  which was his job? that could help.
I don't think you'll find obituary, but not imposible. It's possible to ask for a certificate to the province government, but they ask for precisions and in fact it seems the procedure is for locals only.
There are also a couple of companies that can research for you, not free but unexpensive. They are quite good, I used them a couple of times.

Hi, Leo! It's hard to tell. Most newspapers (specialy those from the provinces) have not their archives digitalized. But part of  the Civil Register of Salta (years 1880 to 2000) is being indexed right now in FamilySearch.org right now, so maybe you'll get lucky!
