Who was Mary Walters father?

Mary's DOB is set as May 1651 following the available sources. By all accounts Charles had left the Hague in June 1649 and was in Jersey in September. He landed in Scotland in June 1650. He did not return to exile until after the Battle of Worcester in September 1651. He did not acknowledge Mary and didn't treat Lucy very well after that suggesting that he didn't believe he was Mary's father. There is debate on the profile about this, but the fact that Charles is set as her father suggests that it is Wikitree's preferred paternity. Surely not?

The reasoning that "He did not acknowledge Mary and didn't treat Lucy very well after that suggesting that he didn't believe he was Mary's father", is not sound enough to use as a 'source' for removing Charles as her father, but looking at the profile I also do not see why Charles is set as her father without sources.

Basic reasoning is that he wasn't available.
