Have you registered for the Scan-a-Thon yet? [closed]

Question

In January we will have our first annual 72-hour scanning marathon, to parallel our fun and successful annual Source-a-Thons and Spring Clean-a-Thons.

Our mission: to scan and share all those old family photos and other items we've been meaning to get to!

The party starts Friday morning, January 11, at 8 AM (ET) and runs until Monday, January 14, at 8 AM (ET). (Eastern Standard Time is GMT -5.) We're encouraging genealogists from all over the world to participate at the same time.

Will you join us?

To register, just click the ANSWER button and say "Sign me up!" or whatever and include a few words about your location or genealogical interests.  

If you're already part of a team from a previous challenge and want to stay on it, mention that. Not all teams are available for the Scan-a-Thon so you may not end up on the same one. The current teams are listed here. More may be added.

Hey, let me in, please! I haven't had time to work on much of anything for so long, January, 2019 sounds like a great time to take a break to WikiTree! I can't figure out which team most fits our family's diverse ancestry, tho'. No Irish Fighters, eh? Well, I'll choose the Sandringham Strollers if that's OK. Not just b/c we also have plenty enough English elders, but b/c I really think Gillian Thomas is swell! :)

I'm not sure what you mean by unknown pictures? You can always create a space page for photos, but my understanding is only photos put on profiles count for this challenge.

Yes, you can upload unknown images! They should go on a free-space page and you should add as much information as you can about what you know so there's a hope that someone might be able to help you identify them someday.

Hi, I am part of the Kiwi Crew, and hope to contribute images in January.

My interests are primarily cemeteries, and I am in North Island of New Zealand. But I have a few family certificates and items that I can scan (or photograph) as well - I am just in the process of clearing out my step Dad's house as he moves to a retirement village. He doesn't have much in the way of photos at all, but there are a few documents that I thought I would add (death cert, marriage cert).  I found one interesting old family photo from India where he was born and raised, and someone has helpfully written on the back... so that will give me an incentive to add a few extra people as well.

If you like to work on one and make it as loved and beautiful as possible before moving on, feel free and show that profile all the love you can.
