Trying to find information on James Ard, Wayne County Kentucky

Question

Looking for information on a James Ard, born in Wayne County Kentucky. Fought in the War of 1812 as a Kentucky rifleman at the Battle of New Orleans as part of the Kentucky Detached Militia under Captain Vickery in the regiment of Colonel Slaughter. All three are listed in the book "A Century of Wayne County Kentucky, 1800-1900"

Uncle is likely to be Ruben (Reuben) Ard. Father could be John Ard. Both show up in the census during those periods, but children's names weren't provided. John shows to have a male child of the appropriate age to go to war. Either could show up as living in Monticello or Wayne County.

Ruben is my GGG Grandfather.

On Dec 16 1788 James Ard died ,in will left all his property to James Jr,Reuben &

Thomas.William and John got 1 shilling each.Records of Gilbert Ard,Goose

Creek So.Carolina.So Reuban father was John Ard.I have earlier info on Ard

but it is hard to read and fathom,because so many people with same name.It is all

based on Will and Gilbert family records.

Thanks. Yes, I have that info already. It precedes my James by several generations.

the first James had John, William, Thomas, Rueben, and James Jr.

John Sr. had John Jr., Reuben (this is my GGG Grandfather, not the one form the previous generation), Jacob, and Nancy, with a half-brother James McHenry thrown in for good measure.

John Jr had James.

I did get in contact with the Wayne County Kentucky Historical Society, and they have some documents they're sending me.

And I know what you mean about names repating. John, James, and Reuben show up over and over, many times multiples in the same generation.
