Incest in the WikiTree??

It appears that we have long attributed the parentage of [[Hocknell-1|Elizabeth Hocknell]] to her brother, [[Hocknell-36|John]]. Please take a look at her profile, and let me know if you have any counter-evidence against the Alternative Profile.

Marshall, I'm not an expert on the Hocknell family, but the original listing as Elizabeth being descended from her brother doesn't make any sense whatsoever.  Personally, I have an ancestor who was a descendant of two first cousins creating pedigree collapse in my family.  I also know it might be possible if her brother were 32 years older than she was.  Then, of course, she wouldn't be his sister though she might be his half-sister if he had married her mom after he father died.  Sometimes life's a mystery.

Alternative bio looks good according to source 2 which makes the John who married Frances only two years older than the Elizabeth who married Anthony Swettenham. Early on I was advised always to attend to the siblings and I've found that very good advice. Profiling them however briefly should sort this once and for all.
