I am looking for info on Lula Masterson maiden name Brown.

We assume her middle name starts with M.

Supposedly one of her daughters(Pearl) did some research in the '60s saying she was half cherokee and half swedish. Also found out where she was buried.

She died in Missouri while the children were young. Her husband Joseph Masterson could not take care of them and they were put in different orphanages. Children: Earl or Earle Hester(Used Hester because disliked her first name, born 1907), Pearl Ester(twin sister to Hester) Older brother Clarence, Johnny(supposedly died as a child) and sister Della.

Supposedly Joseph Masterson remarried and had another child. Nothing known about that.

Unfortunatly nothing else is known about Lula or Joseph.

Thaanks,

Angela

Hello,  I am not sure if it is the same Mastersons or not, but there are some Mastersons around Ellington, MO.  They are Cherokee and active or was active in the AR/MO Cherokee tribe.  That is how I met them.  That is how I came to verify my Cherokee lineage.  :)  If you call the courthouse they might connect you to the geneologist in the area and he may have some information for you.  Happy hunting!

Not sure if you will receive this message because it looks like you posted this 10 years ago but in case you do get it, your story sounds very similar to mine and I am curious if there’s any relation. My grandmother was also adopted off of the reservation and her mother was Mary Masterson. Frederick Leveski was her father. They had a daughter named Yvonne and she was adopted off of the reservation. I wonder if there’s any connection.
