Is there evidence to give the "Mervyn Marvin" family more suitable LNABs?

There's a family allegedly named "Mervyn Marvin," listed at https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/MERVYNMARVIN, that needs a better name. This is a family in 1400s-1500s Essex (England) that is ancestral to some early settlers (including PGMs) in Connecticut. I don't see valid sources on any of the profiles. Does anyone have a basis for (at a minimum) giving them a more normal last name?

All I found was more variations on Findmypast

Murfin

Murven

Marven .

Is it not usual to stay with the name on the first source record you find?

Usually it is best to go with the earliest document one can find - we all like it when we find birth records but they are not always to be found - or the other thing is something with their signature on it - those are also one of the best ways to solidify the name -

There are some Mervyn's listed in the Essex Records Office.  This may be a place to find the family.  http://seax.essexcc.gov.uk/

There are some wills in The English Ancestry of Reinold and Matthew Marvin, by William T.R. Marvin, that look like they are directly transcribed rather than translated into modern English.  The link goes to one for John Marvyne of Ramsey but there are others,

John Mervyn, whose will RJ cited, is Mervyn-6. His profile is unsourced, for all intents and purposes, so there's an opportunity to improve at least that one profile. However, few of us will pay 3.50 pounds for a document, solely so we can improve somebody else's unsourced genealogy.
It will be on ancestry if you have access to UK records. ( within PCC wills. ) I can't look now but from experience,  their index doesn't always find them  and I have to try all sorts of searches to find them. (quite infuriating but it will be there)
