Did this Sheridan family immigrate from Ireland to Canada around 1854?

My family bible indicates my great-grandfather immigrated as a 3 year old from County Wexford to Quebec Canada around 1854. They were farmers in Ireland but moved to the Eastern townships of Quebec (lower Canada) and worked around the mines in the Asbestos area. If anyone has any information on the Irish ancestry, I would be grateful for any insight as I cannot find any to date.
