Looking for brick wall help on Thomas Johnson parents

Question

Need some suggestions on where else I can look.  I have gone with the parents listed on Thomas's death certificate, George E and Amanda, but I am not confident  because it was filled out by one of his daughters who was adopted out at birth and re-connected with shortly before his death.

I also have handwritten and typed family papers from one of his Grandchildren and Thomas's photo album.   The papers list his parents as Charles Johnson and Sarah Buckner Johnson who was said to have lived to 101..  One of the pictures has Thomas, his daughter and her baby as well as Charles Johnson.   I can't tell if he is old enough to be father or brother.   The 1880 Census from Thomas lists both parents born in Indiana.  Apparently his birth records were destroyed in a fire.

Mom's DNA has Scandanavian roots which I think are from the Johnson line since I have her other lines accounted for.

Any suggestions or tips?   Thanks for any help you could offer, Shelly

Unfortunately, while that seemed very promising, I do not see Thomas with them in 1860.
