James Raymond Hall was my great-grandfather. I am looking for any possible connections or records for James. I have conflicting information on where James was born and no definitive date of death.
James died in Oklahoma of the Spanish Flu, sometime after September 1918 (his WWI Draft Registration card is dated September 12, 1918 in Atoka, Oklahoma).
My grandmother, Viola Edna Alice Hall, was told that her father's middle name was Redman and that he was from Kentucky. The entry for my grandmother on the 1930 U.S. Census lists her father's birthplace as Kentucky. But the 1920 U.S. Census lists her father's birthplace as Alabama. Her mother, Nora, was remarried by 1920 (her third marriage) so my grandmother is in her step-father's household; Levi L. Brown. Her mother's maiden name was Nora Simmons. Nora's first husband was Robert Sharp. James Raymond Hall was her second husband.
I have been unsuccessful finding James on any U.S. Census - either in Oklahoma, Kentucky, or Alabama. The two documents I have been able to locate - his WWI Draft Registration and his marriage license to Nora Sharp - do not list a birthplace.
Any Halls in OK, KY or AL that might have some suggestions? Thanks!
