A friend of mine recently located WWII dog tags for Pal R. Legendre near Rome, Italy with the Army Serial Number 20432975 which also listed the name C. Newberry as his mother.  The dog tags were provided to a Napier Family relative.

Army/National Guard records indicate that he enlisted on 13 January 1941 in the Field Artillery.  HIs year of birth was listed as 1921.

Social Security records indicate that he died on 3 Dec 1999 at the age of 77 and that his last known residence was in Greenville, Washington county, Mississippi.  His social security number was 433-26-7712.  Of interest is that his year of birth is listed as 2 April 1922 which is different than his Army enlistment record, which could easily have been a typo.

I can provide these to you if you will send me your email address.

Also, we are trying to locate Paul R. Legendre's obituary and burial location - any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.
