Need help with hyperlink coding

I was trying to make my sources look a little cleaner by hiding the hyperlinks (deleted them all, I think), but when I did that the hyperlinks failed to work.  There was no problem if they were visible.  Obviously some part of my coding was wrong.  I was using:

[[http:// link name <no space> : <space>name of place]]

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?  Am I tackling too much for doing this for only a couple days?

I think I may have found the answer:  No colon or pick needed after the hyperlink?

Hey, Kathy. No...you're not tackling too much.  laugh

Try these. For links to a page that is not a WikiTree profile, just use single brackets and a space after the URL:

[https://isogg.org/wiki/Wiki_Welcome_Page ISOGG Wiki]

To link to a WikiTree profile, use double brackets, the profile ID, a pipe "|" symbol, typically Shift+\  and the text/name to display:

[[Rabenstein-9|Kathy Rabenstein's profile]]
