I need your evaluation about the combination of sources

FamilySearch indexed the churchbooks of the town where my surname-family is from. Now I'm putting all the Eckstädts I can find there in WT. And here starts my question: I found this burial entry https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QPXK-YBHR. This could be my 4xggmother. The thing is that the age in the burial entry doesn't fit nor to the birth entry I have in the ancestry passport of my grandpa (scanned picture on the profle) neither to the marriage certificate which is also available on the profile. I know that on the marriage certificate is no birthdate given. But it says that she was of full age. This means at that time she had had her 24. birthday.

In the burial entry there is no spouse given. This indicates that her husband was already dead at her time of death. In the blog I have bookmarked which has transcriptions of the FS-microfiches I found a burial in 1847 which could be her husband.

So now that I have given you nearly every information I have for her, what do you think, is this Dorothea my ancestor or not? Honestly I would say it is her, but I am not yet so confident to link that entry to her without a consultation.

How many Eckstädts were there in Tangermünde?  It only needs two cousins to marry 2 Dorothys.

The dates wouldn't be fatal if you had other evidence.

Currently the newest entry on WT is Eckstädt-62. And there are still hundreds of them waiting to be added here. ;) And there are still the wives that had different LNAB. And don't ask me how many similar or equal names there are, especially on the male side. This makes the whole stuff not really easy.

FamilySearch records need to be read with a critical eye, I've found. Their transcription software makes many errors, so if the original documents haven't been scanned it's almost like no record at all.

For your reference section of the profile I would still go ahead and enter the full URL for the sources you're citing - birth, marriage, death, etc, and simply add a note to each one that they need to be verified. The names of the sources without the URLs aren't much help for anyone who might be interested in following the leads. They should be in the format "Name of Source [url.of.source.com] "  You can also create a new header called ==Notes== and list them there. I do this often, as a way to keep track of research. I know that about citing the sources. In the source section I would copy their citation as I always do.

Do you have an Ancestry account? Then go ahead and have a look at the source for me. They digitized them. I don't have that, so I can't do it.

Hi Jelena, I was only referring to the incomplete sources on the profile. If they came from Ancestry (paid account) or FamilySearch (free account), I would still go ahead and provide the URL for anyone who has an account and wants to help with research. For instance, I would use the format:

* "FamilySearch.com, citing "Kirchenbucheintrag Geburt und Hochzeithttps" [https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/de/Deutschland_Kirchenb%C3%BCcher] ".

It makes it easier to collaborate, and that's a good thing!
