Advice before adding father of this pre-1700 DuSablon-Rompré-Lévesque profile?

I can add a father to the profile of Mathurin DuSablon-Rompré-Lévesque. This is who I can add:

  • Pierre Lévesque 1641-1701

These are the sources I am using:

  • Ancestry.com, Upper Brittany, France Births & Baptisms, 1501-1907 (Provo, UT, USA, Ancestry.com Operations Inc, 2010), Ancestry.com, Record for Pierre Lévesque. http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1679&h=901038&indiv=try.

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

Hi Melissa,

I corrected various data fields on the profile to align with era, and added info on his marriage, with source.  As a suggestion, if you are using an ancestry tree as source, when creating a profile enter the basic bio BMD data with links to actual sources used on the original tree, saves you and everybody else a lot of work afterwards, don't need to go back to fill in the data afterwards.  Just a tree for a source doesn't really prove anything.

Hi Melissa,

The appropriate project to coordinate with is the Québécois project, which covers profiles in Canada, New France (modern day Québec, Canada).  Please review the project page, linked here, as it has specific guidance on naming conventions and location fields.

Pierre Lévesque already has a profile-see Lévesque-15, so please don't create a new one.  I noticed that you recently created a number of duplicate profiles, so we'll need to merge them, as we require having only one profile per person on WikiTree.

Hi Greg,

If there are duplicates, why are they not showing up when I create the profile? I checked every one I created and none had suggestions.
Nevermind. I used a longer name. From now on I'll use the immediate surname and save the extended for "other"

I am contacting the PM to propose merges
he never used the name du Sablon in any form in his life that I can find.
