I have found this record on FMP using his service number from the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and this is what I had found this morning

https://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=gbm%2fmci%2f4394724

I have spoken to his grandson and nothing apart from KOSB has been mentioned

this is record from Wars Forces

So how accurate is this record

Hi Steph, the FindMyPast record you found is just Medal Index cards transcription and is only an index of medals compiled by The National Archives. It is not a record of his service and so won't have any additional information other than what medals he was awarded. It's accuracy depends on how good the person was who compiled and transcribed the information.
