Not sure where else to look (May/Mays and Dunlap families, western Pennsylvania, 1800s)

I've been working for a few years on trying to trace my mother's family, and I've been stuck on her great great grandparents (Thomas and Lydia Dunlap).  I have been able to find sources indicating that they lived in Brady's Bend, Pennsylvania in the mid to late 1850s, before moving to Massillon, Ohio around 1860 and Dover, Ohio around 1865 or so.  What I have not been able to find are good primary sources that give information about their lives before that (up to and including their marriage).

I found a book written in 1911 (Charles Albert Cornman's "Genealogical Record of the Wunderlich Family in America" - https://books.google.com/books/about/Genealogical_Record_of_the_Wunderlich_Fa.html?id=wclfAAAAMAAJ) that lists a Thomas Dunlap married to a Lydia May; the book lists their children as WIlliam, Samuel, John, and James (which match with info I have about my mother's great grandfather and his brothers).  Cornman's book does not list his sources for the information, so I have been trying to find additional sources to confirm or refute his info.  A few other sources seem to support Lydia Dunlap's maiden name being May or Mays (they are listed in her profile, which is May-8392; I can't figure out how to link it correctly), but I'm not sure I have enough information to say for certain that Miss Lydia May and Mrs. Lydia Dunlap are the same person.

My question is, where do I go from here?  I thought perhaps a few more experienced sets of eyes (and brains) could help me figure out where else to look.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
