Do you know the county and or city in Ontario where Anna Jean was born?

Did she and her father spell their last names differently? If not, which one is spelled correctly in the question?

No, I do have record of Edgar Callis living in Toronto, in 1901. My father's side of the family has always spelled it Collis. No one questioned it. Margaret's handwriting of the name looked like an not an a . I was don't remember meeting Her or anyone else of the Callis family.

Also, Margaret (Milligan) was married before Edgar. Walter Brown from New Brunswick, Canada. License issued in Boston, Ma.

The Margaret Milligan that married Walter Brown gives birth to children in April 1901 and April 1905 (both die shortly after birth) in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, do not think that is the same person.

Edgar Callis did not die. He had 2 more children by Margaret Milligan.

Theo M Callis 04/17/1900 birthplace unknown (maybe Ontario)

Virginia (Callis) Lamb, birthplace in Oregon (Astoria?).

Margaret worked in lumber camps in Scappoose, Oregon.
Edgar is clearly not living with the family by March 1917 when Margaret marries Rufus.  Virginia and Anna are living with Rufus and Margaret in the 1920 Census.  If Edgar did not die, do you know who he was living with after Margaret?  Do not see him in Canadian or US Census.

I think because Edgar’s wife Stella is still alive, maybe Edgar and Margaret’s ‘marriage’ and children were not registered/ recorded. Could not find any birth certificates for their children. On Stella’s death certificate in 1906, it lists her as still married. Edgar and Stella’s children are living with Edgar’s parents in 1910.
