New Member Introduction

Good Day Everyone!

I am new to Wikitree and would like to introduce myself.

I currently reside in Arizona and as a Christmas gift a few years ago my daughter gave me a 23 & Me DNA test..  Imagine my surprise, when the results came back and I discovered that I am not the person who I thought I was for 60 years!   So now the mystery starts and I am going on a great hunt/adventure.  Look forward to chatting with fellow members and sharing the ups and downs of discovering who I am!

Hi Kathleen and welcome to WikiTree!

Good luck researching your ancestors and thanks in advance for helping to build our shared tree. If you have questions you can post them here on G2G. I've found this to be a great community and the members here are happy to share their knowledge/expertise.
Kathleen, Welcome to WikiTree!  This is a wonderful group of people to work with to grow our great family tree.  Feel free to ask for help when you need it!
Welcome,

I am finding out new and intersting facts as well. My dad’s biological side, as well as my mother’s side, as I am getting to know more about. I love the trees and someday hope to leave my dauggters with as much info I possibly can.

Welcome Kathleen!  You've come to a wonderful place -- full of friendly, encouraging and helpful people.  It's more than a community, it's a family.  You can come here to share information, to find information, sometimes to get a good laugh, and to learn.  I've been here about a year and a half and I continue to learn things daily, literally.  I'm sure that will continue as long as I'm here.  So join in; we're glad you're here.

Thank you, Susan, for choosing my answer as best. You are one of those people I described above.
And thank you, Kathy, for choosing my answer as the best. That was very kind -- but that's what wikitreers are.

Welcome Kathleen, I have not been here long and already have found a home here. They are always willing to help.

There is a group here called adoption angels if this of any use for your situation.

Familysearch.org is a great free site, you have to register but that’s free too.

I’m sure others will put forward sites that might be of help to you.

Have fun on your treasure hunt!

So who are you, Miss Kathleen? Hmmm...

My grandmother always thought she was English, Dutch, and Welsh. Well imagine her surprise when we informed her that she was English and Welsh, sure, but not Dutch.  Pennsylvania Dutch i.e., GERMAN! She also had a little Irish. This is only funny for her because her husband was German and Irish and she liked to tease him about it.

Have fun finding new cousins . . . This week I found a cousin-in-law many times removed.  But she helped fill in part of the tree.

Right now I'm exhausted from sourcing and going blind/cross-eyed.  So, of course I come to find out what others are doing to spur me on.

I think you'll find this group of history fans to be friendly and helpful.
