German research assistance

Searching for an Ehlers connection in Louisiana for my Moore line --Y DNA tested, known Non Paternal Event (NPE) branch--  researching these Ehlers from Germany, if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated!

Ehlers-1131 I found a Heinrich Ehlers immigration from Germany to New Orleans but it is in 1852 so definitely not the same man.

Y DNA match is to lineage of this Ehlers-1129 but am stuck on him also.  :(  Had thought if I could get this line back to the immigrant ancestor, I might find a male descendant who moved south.  Sigh.. :)

Thank you!

Have you looked for naturalization documents, these may give a key to where in Germany he was from. They may be at the local courthouse.
