Is Sarah (McCarty) Barnes the same person ss Sarah (Ball) McCarty Barnes?

Question

The two wives of "Abraham Barnes Sr" (different wikitree numbers) are Sarah McCarty (McCarty591) born after 1780 as the wife of the earlier Abraham Barnes Sr. and Sarah (Ball) McCarty (Ball-7029) as the wife of the  second Abraham Barnes Sr.  Her first marriage was to Dennis McCarty.  Dennis McCarty was the grandson of Sarah McCarty's father.

The sourced references on Geni say that the elder Abraham McCarty Sr. had only one son Col. Abraham Barnes, Jr.  How does one rectify the discrepancies?

No info on her origin, or whether she might have been a widow.  But it's implied that she married Abraham Barnes (immigrant) in 1700 or not far off.

Sarah Ball (McCarty) Barnes is the cousin of George Washington. Her cousin Mary Ball was GW's mother. Sarah's portrait is in the Smithsonian.
