Jane Broughton born 1510-1570 Married to Sir Richard Osborne II  has two fathers listed on most sights.  Does anyone have any sources they can show me or refer me to?

She's a duplicate :)

There was already an approved merge, but it wasn't showing on the profile, as they sometimes don't.

Dunno about Richard's ancestry.  The Essex family has been discussed on here before.  I don't think Peter Osborne of Tyle Hall in Essex had anything to do with the Osborne or Tylden families of Kent.

Apparently the Broughton in question is this one in Cumberland, between Workington and Cockermouth.

There's mention of Broughton in Westmorland or "near Penrith" but I can't find any such place.  Maybe confused with Brougham.

There are at least 3 Broughtons in north Lancs including 2 in the detached part - Broughton-in-Furness (held by a different family called Broughton) and Broughton-in-Cartmel.

Found a pedigree of Sir Edward's wife Ann Hewitt

but page 1029 is in twice and page 1028 is missing, so none the wiser.

Sir Peter Osborne of Tyld(en) Hall, England m. Lady Eme Essex he is the great grand father of Richard Osborn b. 1510 that married Lady Jane Broughton b. 1510-1570.  Her father is John Broughton of Bridekirk,

Westmorland, England near Penritt.  I see you mentioned the Tylden Families of Kent.  Very interesting!  Most people don't know who they are!

the book

"Genealogical Memoirs of the Extinct Family of Chester of Chicheley"              Page 225- father John Broughton      Page 237 Father Richard Broughton     book also suggests Lancelyn and Edward Broughton is Jane's brothers that left their estates to Jane.  In the Chester of Chichley- it does talk about a family coat of arms that suggests by the combination of the Coast of arms that John is the father of Jane.  The Broughton family owned several properties.
