Where in Ireland were Owen McConnell and his son John Thomas born?

I've just signed up on Wikitree so my family tree is sparse at this point. My great great grandfather Owen McConnell was born in Ire ca 1805 and immigrated to upstate NY by way of Canada. He settled in the Rochester area ca 1850. His wife's name was Margaret (Wall or possibly Ward). Owen's father's name was Bernard. One of Owen's children, John Thomas, born in Ire ca 1840, was my great grandfather.

At a brick wall on this, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My great grandfather was John Thomas McConnell born in Ireland on Feb 2 1839. He immigrated to Canada in 1867. Is this the same John McConnell? I’m on Ancestry and Gedmatch if you want to check DNA.
