How to redirect a paternal grandfather to the CORRECT next step up the tree.

SO I added a chain of strictly-paternal parents/grandparents to my tree until I got to one that was already in WikiTree, and acknowledged that THAT person was the next in the line. But when I go up another generation or two, it points to the WRONG person, it points to another person with the same name, but different dates & wife. Do I create an "unrelated" person then try to link the right person in my tree to THAT 'unrelated' person?? Unrelated is what WikiTree is telling me a "New" person will be if I create such. This is a correct person in my tree: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Holeman-3  But, the father of that person is an Edward Holman b.1684, d.9-11-1743, NOT the person WikiTree leads to.
