This book says Sowheag (he was Sachem).

You should be able to see page 26+. Mongotuckee means Long Knife.  I clipped pgs. 26-29 if you can't see them, I'll upload them.

I've been looking for more information (I live on Long Island) and it is difficult because Mongotuckee's son, Wyandanch, gets all the credit and there is a lot of information about him because he befriended the white people, especially Lion Gardner. I found one article that said Wyandanch is buried out in Montauk in an unmarked grave, yet lesser Native Americans have fancy markers.
I would be very skeptical of anything found about a Native American who lived and died before there were Europeans in New York.  He was mentioned in notes added in 1845 to a pamphlet written in 1670 which carefully noted that when a member of one of the local Indian groups died his name was never spoken again.
I had a suspicion that Sowheag was the father. But what i see on a lot of family trees is a supposed mother, Sarah Phinney Root (1485-1550), lived in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Since the first New England settlers didn’t arrive until November of 1620 I’d say that’s pretty unlikely.
These are all poorly sourced.  I've added the NA Project to a couple of them but the profiles need some serious sourcing and analysis. Your help is appreciated.
Update: Sowheag was a documented Native American in what is now Connecticut, but he died in 1649 so could NOT have been a father of someone born in the mid 1500s. I've detached him.
