Connecting Members that are no longer active to the Tree [closed]

I have reached out to a few individuals, that at one point were active on WikiTree and have control of their own profiles, about connecting their profile to the family tree (e.g. parent's that are already created). In my messages I have expressed that I would like to be added to the trusted list or if they prefer they can make the connection themselves and maintain strict private policy control.

This has helped in a few cases; however, there are some former users that for whatever reason over the past year or so have not gotten back to me or it seems to have made any edits to the tree and perhaps haven't even logged in for several years.

While not a problem in the near term, these small issues could become quite the nuisance as time goes on.

What is the best way to handle a situation like this?

Here is a specific example:

I contacted this user initially to get them involved in WikiTree. They accepted. Modified their profile and then logged in once since the past 2 years. I have since this time found a NC Birth Index record to connect them to their father whom already has a profile.

I messaged them several times over the last year to ask for access or for them to add the profile to their profile themselves and update the privacy settings.

I suspect that either they are no longer active and may not be interested in returning to the site for untold reasons.
