I'm hoping someone has info that I'm having a lot of trouble finding regarding my 3rd GGM and GGF. My 3rd GGM is Nancy L Woodard (1845 - 1912), daughter of James M and Artemesia Woodard (I can't find Artemesia's maiden name), and Nancy's husband is Henry Firman/Furman (grave says 1832 - 1899, but seems more like between 1836-1838), son of Harrison Firman and Eliza Coe.
This is going to be convoluted, but I have a gut feeling that there is some sort of relation here and I cannot find it for the life of me.
For the Firmans, I cannot find any info beyond Harrison aside from a death certificate for his brother that says their parents' names were Jacob Furman and Susannah. The peculiar thing is that Eliza Coe (Harrison's wife) has a paternal grandmother named Sarah Furman who, again, I cannot find any parents for. It just seems to me like these families knew eachother, as there are a lot of common surnames between the 2 families.
Now for the Woodards. I cannot find Artemesia's maiden name, which is driving me crazy. However I do find a census showing James's parents living with them at one point, and it says their names are Joseph and Sally Ann Woodard. Again, I hit a dead end with finding them. It only gets more strange from there. James and Artemesia have a 10 year old boy living with them in the 1870 census, and his name is Franklin Furman. James and Artemesia's daughter married into the Furman's, but they did not have any sons. When I research Franklin, the only possible match I've found is a young boy from the Neversink, New York Furman's who is the right name and age. But when I look through their family, I don't find any relation to the other Furman's.
Any info at all is greatly appreciated!
