I I have hit a brick wall searching for my G-G-grandfather's parents and/or any of his possible siblings.  I would welcome any leads!
Most of the information that I have on him came from his obituary posted on Find-A-Grave.  I have posted the obituary below (with the link), with my additional information about him, his 2 known wives - there may have been other wives, based on his children's birthdates - and his children inserted inside square brackets [-].  This is absolutely EVERYTHING that I currently have to share for them.

OBITUARY
Nathan Thomas Allen was born in Tuscumbia, Ala., Feb. 16, 1849, and died Nov. 16, 1930 at his home in Elmo, Kans. Age 81 years and 9 months.  [He most frequently went by "NT or Thomas".]

During his early life he moved with his parents to Pleasant Hill, Mo., and after manhood moved to Kansas.

During the year of 1872 he was united in matrimony to Lizzie Anderson. To this union three children were born. Two [unidentified] preceded him in death and John W. [William] Allen of Lafayette, Colo., survives his father. [John lived 1869-1950.]

This union being severed, he later married Hulda Anderson in 1877 [Hulda Shreves Anderson was born 6 Dec 1856 in Lafayette County, Missouri;  wed 27 August 1877 in Lafayette County, Missouri; died 4 Oct 1936, buried Gypsum Cemetery, Plot: Block 4, Lot 48, Gypsum, Saline County, Kansas, USA]. To this union seven children were born:
- Minnie Barnard, Elmo, Kans. [born in Missouri; no further information];
- Ida [Mrs John B.] Hensley, Natoma, Kans, [Ida Moena Allen was born 28 March 1876 in Butler, Bates County, Missouri];
- Viola [Mrs Fred] Ashbough, Palo-Alto, Cal. [Viola was born in 1881 in Missouri; surname should be Ashbaugh];
- Maude [Mrs. Frank] Zimmerman, Russell, Kans.; [Maude May was born 27 Jan 1884 in Strasburg, Cass County, Missouri; died 6 March 1974; buried Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Russell County, Kansas];
- Ethel [Mrs. Thomas P.] Bush, Salina, Kans. [Ethel Dianna was born  11 March 1890 in Ellis County, Kansas; died 10 May 1980 in Abilene, Dickinson County, Kansas; obit can be read at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=bush&GSfn=ethel+&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=18&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=81896576&df=all& ];
- LeRoy Allen, Gypsum, Kans. [Kenneth LeRoy was born 4 Oct 1891 in Fairport, Russell County, Kansas; died 18 May 1966 in Abilene, Dickinson County, Kansas; obit can be read at per http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=92618&GRid=33474171& ];
-  Alma [Mrs. Valentine John] Earhart of Honolulu [Alma A. was born 13 Jan 1896 in Kansas; died 2 March 1977; and is buried at Fort Riley Post Cemetery, Plot: E 30, Fort Riley, Geary County, Kansas]
[Some sources mention a possible daughter Mollie, but I find no documentation.  There were eventually at least 17 grandchildren and at least 24 great-grandchildren, most of whom are still living, and so none of them are listed here.]

Coming to Kansas in 1889, he with his family settled on a homestead near Fairport, where they lived for several years, later coming to Gypsum for seven years and then moving to Elmo where he resided till death. While living at Fairport he united with the Presbyterian church in the year of 1907.

When a young man he [may have] served in the Confederate Army. [no documentation found].

Beside his wife and children he leaves to mourn his going other near relatives and many friends.

He was a loving husband and a kind father, a good neighbor and friend. During his last few years his affliction was of such nature that he was bedfast and suffered much. All was done for his comfort that loving hands could do. Our loss is his gain.
