Removing a confidence level indicator for parent

Can I remove a parental status/confidence indicator on a profile or is that currently not possible?  If a connection to a parent was marked "confident" in error ... and "non-biological", "uncertain" and "confirmed with DNA" do not apply, we should be able to correct the error, shouldn't we?

I scanned a couple of very lengthy discussions about the use of these indicators ...  I just want to fix a mistake ... is that possible?

Maybe it would help if you think of uncertain as "There is currently insufficient documentation to mark it confident", rather than "I don't know." I know it first it seems like a big leap, but really it just means not enough to mark it confident or confirmed.

I think a workaround might be to detach the parent and then reattach and not set any confidence.

Just tried it on one of mine: it works! Good thinking.

Hi Traci,

The Status indicators can be changed just make sure that there is a source to verify the change or at-least research notes that give reason to the change of confidence (Outlining which sources you used to change status). If this profile is managed by another person this is another thing that is best collaborated with the Profile Manager if the profile manager is Unresponsive or inactive  See : Unresponsive Profile Managers

Steve,

My understanding is that Traci just wants to de-select the confident status, and not select another status. But I don't believe that's possible.
You are correct that is not possible.
Thank you!

Hi Traci,

I believe that after one of the relationship status indicators has been selected, the only way to remove that selection is to choose another selection. In this case, it appears that you will need to choose between uncertain and confident.
