Donald McDonell young Scottish emigrant [may have been settled on Sir John Johnson Kingsborough Patent circa 1773] . He joined the King's Royal Regiment of New York on August 18 1777 and was discharged on August 25 1777 [presumably because of wounds suffered at Fort Stanwix Aug. 1777 . His Widow [name unknown] and young daughter Ann / Nancy McDonell resettled in Charlottenburg Glengarry UC after the Rev War , where Ann states in her land grant petition as d/o UEL Donald McDonell that he was killed at Fort Stanwix NY 1777 .
