6 children linked to wrong father ?

While sourcing some orphan profiles / abandoned gedcoms, I came across 6 Taylor children who seem to be linked to the wrong father. I have added research notes to each, but instead of leaving the question for someone else later, perhaps I should try to conclude the pruning now, and remove my notes! Not sure of the protocol - should I go ahead on my own ?, so rather asking here first. If anyone is prepared to take a look and offer opinion / advice, it would be appreciated. Chainsaw on standby . . .

I believe Taylor-12718, 12720, 12721, 12722, 12723,12724 should be removed from father Taylor-7354.

This is all due to an incorrect merge of the correct father into the current profile.

Thanks for that investigation, I did look through the rejected matches linked, but did not look at the history of the profile - thankyou.

I agree with you - that does look incorrect as it is now. The present father's profile, however, is not an orphaned one, so I would send a private message to the Profile Manager before firing up the chainsaw.

Thanks, have sent a message and will be patient!

Yes, these children should be removed from the current profile and profiles for the correct parents attached. Contacting the current manager of Taylor-7354 and explaining your reasons prior to doing so would be the courteous thing to do, but you have solid evidence to support removing them so it shouldn't be an issue.. John and Mary Taylor continued to live in Antrobus through the 1871 census. John can be found in the 1881 census there without Mary. They had additional children after the 1851 census was recorded.

Thanks for the advice, I have sent a p/m and will wait a week or so before doing anything further. I have looked at other WT John Taylor profiles to see if the correct father already exists, but there are just so many John Taylors without dates or continents - too easy to create more duplicates!
But at some point 2 people incorrectly merged two different people and without that it would have just been a case of adding the correct sources.

This kind of thing is why everyone needs to look at both dates and locations carefully.
You might want to wait a couple of weeks, with the holidays and all...just a suggestion.
