Are these categories duplicates?

The two categories, Category: Australia Service Medal 1939-1945 and Category: Active Service Medal are duplicates of the same Australian military decoration.  Are they able to be merged under (correct name) Australia Service Medal 1939-1945?

I don't think so.  The decoration may be the same, but the categories are not.

The Australian Active Service Medal is an Australian military decoration. It was authorised 13 September 1988 to recognise prescribed service in warlike operations.

The Australia Service Medal 1939–1945 recognises service in Australia's armed forces, Mercantile Marine and Volunteer Defence Corps during World War II

The Australian Service Medal 1945–1975 recognises service in peacekeeping or non-warlike operations in the 30-year period following World War II, and prior to February 1975

Thanks for your response, Melanie.  Much appreciated as it made me have an additional look.  I know there are many different medals of similar names and purposes.  I am speaking about the two WikiTree categories that even describe the same medal and ribbon, regardless of whether their names are correct.
If there is a "Category: Active Service Medal" that in no way reflects the actual Active Service Medals (1945-1975 or 1975-2012) and is more closely describing the "Australia Service Medal 1939-1945", then I'd say to merge them to the correct one (ASM 1939-1945).

I only know about this because I had cause recently to look it up for accuracy.  (One of my rellies whose profile I was working on and I wanted to be 100% sure when I added the pic.)
