What is the likely hood of Stephen Crump's DNA matching mine?

Greetngs,

I am a part of a Crump DNA project that has been going on for many years.  Ed Crump is over the project and he is from FTDNA.com.  Ed has been able to find about 6 Crump families that live in Americia that have totally different DNA.  My DNA is from a group of DNA listed with the Crumps from New Kent, Virginia.  Since Stephen, and  many of the other Crumps listed are from New Kent, Virgina the possibliitly is greater that I am related. Also antoher factor is Saint Petes Parish.  Stephen and many of the Crumps you have listed attended the Saint Peters Parish located in New Kent, Virginia.

In reards to your question itsdifficult to answer.The problem is it dependson how you mean. If you mean autosomal dna it would be quite different in that you odirectbtain it from  both sides of your family and it also gets shuffled.

 

Mitochrdrial and  chromosome are the better odds of matchng , but for thatt be the  case  you have to share the same male/female direct ancestor.

Just an aside, but if you have not downloaded your DNA test results to Gedmatch.com, I suggest that you do. It is free & has many analytical tools available with it.
