Is it possible to create links between Trees within Wikitree?

Question

Hi - Myself and another person creating separate Family trees, in Wikitree, have discovered a connection of sisters.  It is important the sisters remain in their respective trees and there is nothing to merge.   However, it would be great to be able to show family tree connections.  Is it possible?

You would not merge sisters. You can run a descendant report, limited to 5 generations, from their parents.

At the bottom of any profile page there is a link that you use to show a relationship, if any, between two people. Click on the link, and enter the two Id numbers, and you will get the two lines of descent from the common ancestor.

If the sisters' parents have profiles, connecting each sister to her parents will connect them as sisters.  If the parents don't have profiles, create them.  As Dennis said, there are no separate trees on WikiTree.  There should be one father profile and one mother profile, with both sisters connected to each of them.  If each sister has her own set of parents, the duplicated parent profiles must be merged.  It is not optional.

We do not have separate trees here in WikiTree. There is only one big tree. Not everyone is completely connected to it yet.

So there should only be one single profile for any one person. If we find multiple profiles representing the same person, then we merge them together.

So families who share common ancestors will be connected.

Yes it is possible to associate ancestral lines.  For example matching mtDNA indicates these direct maternal lines share a matriarch https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:H6a1a_mtDNA_Group_2

and matching Y-STR haplotypes indicate these direct paternal lines share a patriarch https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Roberts_Y-STR_Group_1
