Best process when match cannot be determined

When I am doing large GEDCOM comparisons and looking at suggestions, if the other party's tree is private or doesn't supply enough information, is it normally best to simply reject the information. Many of these I have requested trusted list access, but I often do not receive any communication back. What is the best process at that point? Do you normally simply reject that matcn and move on? I know this seems like a silly question maybe, but I'm fairly new. Thank you!
