You should probably add some tags to your post to get the attention of those best able to help you.

The only one I can think of right now is "Scotland".

Did he move to Nottingham? 1911 census there has parents Alfred and Agnes, sons Harry, and Ernest aged 14 both born in Glasgow.

There’s an extensive family tree for this one on Ancestry showing birth 10 November 1896, served in South Staffs Regiment WW1, married Gertrude Hughes 1924 Nottingham, death 10 March 1977.

Hi Lynn drasdo yes that's him.

Is there a link to the tree on ancestry please
Was there a sister called doris who I am led to believe emmigrated to australia

This is a link to his profile

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/6867851/person/-669174184/facts

And the tree

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/tree/6867851/family?cfpid=-669174184

Don’t know how much these will show if you don’t have a subscription though.

Yes there was a sister Doris born 1903, she was in hospital at the 1911 census. She married a Vincent Branston 1927, no further details on this tree, presumably that may be because of her emigration.
Thanks for the reply Lynn yes that's her.

It seems I would have to try Australia
