I don't know about your Martin's, but I have Cherokee or powhatan I believe it is, in 1 of my Martin marriages. I think by the time it got to My dna it was all less than 1% as it's so far back. Now 2 or 3% shows up on my uncle's dna for native. I found that strange as his parents are my grandparents, but I guess my mother's side of the DNA was stronger so the less than 1% native was all I got. He also had Jewish, but I didn't. I also have Chowanoke indian on my Hoyter/Freeman Side from a 7th great grandmother, as even way far back in the 1700's they intermixed in SC, NC, and VA. It's well documented too and there's books on the tribe. But still my dna shows barely any native dna made it to me. I do however have Spanish/Portuguese at 17% and African at 3%, so DNA is very interesting what makes it to your dna isn't it. Good Luck. =)
