Is there a Category or Project which covers the Indian Mutiny/Sepoy Revolt of 1857?

Many years ago I collected books on the Mutiny and (to feed my OCD) I produced a database of anyone who was mentioned in them, but not from a genealogical standpoint. I find that I still have this database (and about 100 books) and would like to add the sources to those people I can find on Wikitree. IF this is a worthwhile exercise would I just create a category and if so, where? It doesn't seem to fit naturally into any existing ones.

I can’t answer your categorization query, but I think this is an excellent idea.  If you get a wild hair, you can create profiles for those who are not on WikiTree.

Hi there

There is an existing category

Brilliant - thank you. Very seldom referred to as a rebellion - usually mutiny or revolt, was this a deliberate choice of wording?
I can only assume that it was named according to what it was named in the wikipedia article (which I just linked on the category page).
Thanks again, that makes sense.

Before I get too carried away there appears to be a structural fault in this category. "Wounded in Action" appears as a subcategory of both this one and of "United Kingdom, Indian Rebellion of 1857". If this is what is required then "Killed in Action" and the two sieges should surely follow suit. I suspect the United Kingdom... sub category is unnecessary. Who would know?
There is a 'generic' Wounded in Action category which is supposed to denote anyone who was wounded during this conflict who has any unknown allegiance. The same applies to the Killed in Action category.

You would also have categories for the participating factions (such as the British) would also have the Wounded in Action and Killed in Action category specific to them

The basic structure although it is the same as other conflicts is majorly incomplete
OK, thanks - I think I've got it. I'll fill in new ones as and when I need to.
