This fits  my Oliver Ross --according to Army Sign -up Papers his birthdate is Oct. 11,1887. see Private Oliver Ross on internet.

Found Oliver Ross as a boarder in the 1911 Canada Census. The birth month shown is at variance with the October 11, 1887 in your question. It has him born in September 1887. At the time of the 1911 census, he is 24, single, a Methodist and living in Vancouver Sub-Districts 19-50, British Columbia, Canada.

My Oliver Ross--was living in Carlton (Ottawa)  1911.

He was raised RC by a very staunch French Canadian Mother, but may have married in a Methodist Church.  ?

I have this information --as taken from  Mary and Oliver's Marriage Certificate, I think it is the only reference to Robert Ross --father and husband of Amelia Dufresne, have found-- Robt Ross was very common name and I have checked Hastings and Renfrew areas --still going.
