Our Scan-a-Thon photo scanning marathon is this weekend! Register before midnight tonight ET (GMT -5) to have your uploads scored for a team and to be eligible for prize drawings.

Awesome work, Giselle! You're definitely carrying the team so far! I love the diversity of your photos. While I was looking at your work I checked out our relationship-- we're 6th cousins twice removed-- your 5x great grandfather, Pierre Cormier II is my 7x great grandfather!
Wow, Joyce is doing well also! I'm afraid I'm way behind, eating y'all's dust! Go team!!
Thank you cousin !

Just now we're in 16th place-- 38 uploads ahead of the Flying Dutchmen and just 10 behind Mid-Atlantic US!! Way to go, TEAM ACADIA!!

Woot!! Working hard at it!!
Go team go ! I am still scanning. More to come.

Not sure if it's official, but we finished a very respectable 15th out of 24 teams! Four of us uploaded 446 out of a whopping 15,845 uploads! Joyce and Giselle took turns throughout the weekend jumping us ahead of the Flying Dutchmen and then the Mid-Atlantic US! We ALL added some amazing photos, improved beaucoup profiles, and beautified our global tree! Thank you all for working so hard together!!

Hi Team Acadia! If you'd like a little recap of how our team did compared to the other teams, here are some numbers for you!

  • First, the totals for ALL teams participating: 199 people on 24 teams uploaded 13,227 images! This is an average of 66 images per team member! In addition, another 2,618 images were uploaded by an unknown number of non-team members.*
  • Team Acadia had 4 actively participating team members, uploading a total of 446 images. Based on total number of images, we ranked #14* out of 24* teams!
  • When you look at the results based on each team's average number of uploads per team member, Team Acadia really shines, averaging 112 scans per member compared to 66 overall.
  • If ranked on the basis of average uploads per team member, Team Acadia would rank an *awesome* #4 out of 24 teams!

These are fabulous results! Small but Strong! So proud of Team Acadia!

*Note that these rankings exclude images uploaded by people not participating on a team. That is not to discount the work they did, but was unavoidable in order to calculate rankings based on team participation. The tracker did not maintain individual results for non-team members. Non-team participants contributed 17% of the total images uploaded during the Scan-a-thon!

Wow, great numbers! Thanks for summing it all up so nicely, on top of all the good work you did with the team!

Yay Team Acadia!! Small team, big heart!!

Amazing !! Thank you so much for the recap.
Really fantastic results!  Thank you for your hard work and the profiles that are better for it.  I think all measurements should be by averages from now on!

LOL me too Cindy! laugh

I'll start. I'm Steff Mandarino, a member of the Acadia and Louisiana Families Projects. I was a co-captain of our team for last fall's Source-a-thon, and I'll be doing that again this time around. I don't have a ton of things to scan, but I'll do my best to cheer y'all on!

My total over the last two days is 25. That's probably going to be it for me. I have a couple more possible ones, but with problems that I may not be able to solve in time. Still, it's about 20 more than I thought I'd have, so can't complain.

Hi Team! I'm also a member of the Acadians project, and a co-leader for Louisiana Families. I have a bunch of pictures to upload this weekend for relatives all over the tree, and will do as many as I can. Looking forward to it!!

Hello Team,

Honoured to be part of Team Acadia. I am an Acadian from New Brunswick, currently living in Quebec. My photos are scanned, ready to upload. I have about 100 photos.  I would like to offer my services to anyone on the Team to retouch photos that you feel are too damaged to upload. It’s free of course.   Just take a picture of the photo with your phone, and send it to me by email. I will do my best to restore it in time for the Scan-a-thon. Here are a few examples of restored photos, before and after. https://photos.app.goo.gl/NaiED9b7AbaxydFdA

WOW. Your work is amazing! But have you registered with Eowyn? I didn't see your name last time I went through the registration pages.
Oh wait-- you're Gisele? I do have your first name. Are you a full member of WT? If not we can get that squared way before the weekend!
Yes, I am a full member. I am Cormier-1939.

Awesome, thanks for the offer! I may have a couple of pictures for you. I'll try to get them to you by tomorrow, if that's not too late. I don't suppose you can reconstruct faces that were torn from the photo? crying frown

Great!  It’s not too late.  I will do my best with the faces
Giselle, thanks for the great work you're doing today! (And I'm kicking myself for not sending you some of my old photos to fix! I'd forgotten the state they're in!)

Wow, team, I was amazed just now when I checked the chart for our scores. Of 24 teams we are in 13th place! This amazing feat is thanks to Giselle, ranked in the top 10 with almost 100 uploads, and Joyce, #22 with almost 60! My hat is off to you both! Thank you!!
answered ago by Stephanie Ward G2G6 Mach 3 (38.1k points)

OK, we've dropped to 17th as of Saturday night.frown But we're only 4 uploads behind the Flying Dutchmen, who pulled ahead a little while ago and may have stalled.cheeky

Monday morning with about an hour and a half to go we're in 15th, just a nose behind 14th! All we need is 6 more uploads to pull ahead of the Mighty Maple Leaves!!  laugh Great job, everyone!!

Nor'Easters stopping by to congratulate all those that participated in the SCAT. Many photos, documents, gravesites, etc have been added to profiles making them much more informative to view.
