Can anyone with a lds/mormon account (familysearch) help me?

Hi,

I have a familysearch free account which I can open images that are public, but not all images in familysearch are public. Some images need account holders to be members of the lds church. That is why now I am asking your help.

Specifically, I refer to:

Spain, Badajoz, Zalamea de la Serena - Church records

  • Baptisms 1818-1857 (microfilm # 008167299)

I'm looking up Genaro (or Jenaro) Aragunde González, born about 1850, son of José and Rafaela.

Spain, Badajoz, Esparragosa de la Serena - Church records

  • Baptisms 1765-1911 (microfilm # 008167279)

I'm looking up Jacoba Bastida Rueda, born about 1850, daughter of Manuel and Lorenza.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Too review the actual microfilm you would need to go to a Family History Center. (If that is what you are asking to access.)
Hi, T. Stanton,

The opening hours of the Family History Center closest to my home (not really very close) are very limited (3 hours, two days a week) and incompatible for me.

I would appreciate if someone could help me looking for these records.

Thank you.
I know what you mean. I am very, very far away from a FHS. There are a few WikiTreers close to centers who are great about checking on things for others. Hopefully one of them will spy this post and check on them for you.

Does FamilySearch still send microfilm to specific libraries? Here is the link to see of one of these libraries are near you   Locator

Sorry, no.  They stopped distributing microfilms in 2017.  Here is a FAQ about what to do if your microfilm isn't available:

Thank you anyway
I tried my usual (software) back door to FS, but unfortunately, Spaniards apparently have something against the use of actual numerals, so my basically-nonexistent Spanish is totally inadequate to the task of figuring out even what effing *year* is on a particular page. Given that the film has 2256 images on it, this is rather a deal-breaker.

I have a Family Research Center 1/2 mile away but they are not open until Tuesday 1/15/2019.  I will see what I can find then unless you get help sooner from someone else.  Rick

If no one can get to it sooner, I can try on Monday when I'm in Salt Lake City. No promises since I don't know my schedule yet.

Hi,

something new?
I got swamped with homework and didn't make it to the FHL. I'm at an FHC now. It will take time since they aren't indexed and I have to read the margins of pages once I find the correct year within the film. Hope to have things today.

Found the indices and they weren't any help. That is, I didn't find the entries of interest. I downloaded images of the index pages. I looked for both:

  • González and Aragunde González (no A entries for this town)
  • Rueda and Bastida Rueda
If you want, I can PM the images to you.
Hi Doug,

I am very grateful to you for having spent time searching these records. You searched only for the year 1850 or more? It would be great if you could send me these images.

Thank you!
