I don't feel confident enough to do it myself.  I have come across someone in Dunedin Cemetery.  We do not have one for Bluff, New Zealand either.

I did a quick search and found a few different Dunedin cemeteries. Dunedin North Cemetery, Dunedin South Cemetery and Dunedin Cemetery (represented here as Northern, Southern and Dunedin).

If you let me know which one is correct, I can help walk you through the steps so we can get this set up for you.

It is the "Dunedin' one I need.  I'll have a go and let you know if I need more help. Thanks.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Bluff_Cemetery,_Southland is the Link for the Bluff cemetery on 224 Lagan Street, Bluff. If that isn't the cemetery then let me know.

As for the Dunedin Cemetery it looks like a new cemetery. The way to set it up is as following

  1. Add [[Category:Dunedin Cemetery, Dunedin, Otago]] to the profile of Gerry Roddy.
  2. Click save anyway on the red banner that pops up.
  3. Go to the profile view and click on the red link with the category name.
  4. On that page add [[Category: Otago, New Zealand Cemeteries]] and click Save.

The Category will now be set up.

Thanks very much.  I'll have a go. Cheers
Well Done. It is perfectly set up.

If you ever need any other cemeteries set up in New Zealand check on [[Category: New Zealand, Cemeteries]] for the correct region then look on the regional pages to see if the cemetery is recorded there.

If it isn't then add the cemetery category, then add the regional cemetery category in the form [[Region, New Zealand cemeteries]] just replacing the Region with the actual region. Also contact the New Zealand Cemeteries Team at the page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:New_Zealand_Cemeteries_Team_Progress so we know a new cemetery was created.

Thank you Darren for a helpful reply to setting up cemeteries.  Have often wondered about the mystiques of Categories.  Your response was helpful and so I've added Oxford Cemetery in Canterbury - hopefully equally correctly.

Cheers

Stephen

Do you still need the Bluff cemetery or is it the one linked at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Bluff_Cemetery,_Southland ?

If I understand you correctly, Kylie, you want to know about Dunedin cemeteries. After clicking the category icon just about the Biography, start typing into it: "Andersons Bay Cemetery" for that one, or "Northern Cemetery"or Southern Cemetery" and you should be well on the way. There's also the West Taieri Cemetery and the East Taieri one too.

No, there is a new Dunedin cemetery, not Northern or Southern, I have set it up now.  Cheers

2nd answer, Kylie. There's also the Green Park Cemetery. There is NO DUNEDIN CEMETERY!

Dunedin City Council would disagree with you.  The May 2018 map shows it on their website.

Forgive this Dunedin native's ignorant presumption. Collaborative research triumphs. Well done, everyone.
We are all prone to it at some point, all good.
Hi Ian

If you look at Emerson Street, Concord, Dunedin near Blackhead Road in Satellite view on Google Maps You can see that there is relatively not many burials there but there is a large potential area to use so it may be newish. The updated map for this cemetery has a May 2018 date on it. Google Street View has the entrance at 120 Emerson Street dated Nov 2009 being started and open by Nov 2012.
