Will you share a Scanning Selfie?

Hi WikiTreers!

We thought it'd be fun to share selfies of ourselves scanning over the weekend! (Like Sourcing Selfies but for scanning!)

Will you share one of you? If so, post it here as answer!

You can add the photo here in this post and/or upload it to the Scanning Selfies free-space page

You can also share it on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram. Just be sure to use #wikitree so we can find it.

Participants will be eligible to win a Scan-a-Thon t-shirt or mug. We'll do a random drawing in the 2pm (ET) Hangouts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Every time you share a selfie, you can be entered to win.  So if you share one selfie in G2G and on Facebook, you'll be entered twice.

Make sense?

We look forward to seeing all of you!

Great pic Linda!

Woohoo Linda there you are ! heart

Good morning, Linda!

Sorry that I didn't do any yesterday but since Wednesday night I had developed bronchitis and sinus also again. It is worse then before New Years. I took the last antibiotic then on New Years Day. So this time my sister took me to the walk in clinic and he prescribed a stronger antibiotic, steroid and steroid shot yesterday, cough pills in form of pearls, and nasal spray. Since Friday I was cough all the time and blowing stuff out of nose all the time. I just didn't feel like participating but I am going to do it today up till 8:00 hopeful.

Does the cat have a profile yet?
Yes, Pip. I'm gonna do genealogy for Cara.

Actually, I probably could. I mean the breeder DID give us her pedigree....

Please provide more information - at least 5 characters

I have a feeling my ranking is increasing today because of kitty. =)

You might be right about that!  cheeky

There are a few constants on the Internet.

1. There's a fanfic for everything.

2. Cats generate likes.

3. YouTube is a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Hi Chris looking great and love Cara the cat wink

And Cara loves being exploited. =)
That's a purr-fect picture!
She does photograph well. =D (Great. The cat is upstaging me. Hahaha.)

I don't think I'll be able to safely scan this bible since the spine is so brittle. I need to set up some sort of book cradle so I can take a photo of the family info!

Try a lap-desk upside down, or make a beanbag for it.

You know... my son got a giant moose beanbag for Christmas
I use a lapdesk, with beanbag fill and it works really well for some books.  I just don't know how well for larger, which is why I thought maybe a beanbag proper.  Just make the indentation first, before opening the book.  (I'm sure there are things you can buy that libraries/museums use (I sort of recall such a thing on an archaeological show I like to watch and re-watch), but have no idea what the cost would be, or how readily available.  Beanbags, however, if you can't buy them, you can make them.  (Packing peanuts make good fill .. as does popped popcorn.) :)
Wauw it's awesome so many of you have family bibles, good luck scanning and you look great Katie !
Katie, a couple of things I had to take a picture of and email them to myself. Once saved to my computer, I just uploaded it to the profiles. Try that.
What a treasure to have that family bible, Katie.
It looks like it is bigger than your head!

This yearbook belonged to my grandmother and her brother Wallie, who died in World War II. I've made a project of creating a profile for each member of their class.

by Chris Whitten G2G Astronaut (1.5m points)
Great Chris!
That's awesome, Chris!  Great idea for people who wonder what they might do with old yearbooks.
That is some dedication. =D Good stuff!

I envy those who have such treasures.

I also applaud the dedication to even begin such a task.  surprise

Thanks! At least two classmates already had WikiTree profiles.

By the way, Chris, did you notice that's you in the background on the monitor? :-)

Looking great and sounds like a great project Chris ! laugh

Yeah, I noticed! That's cool! =D

Dunno if I can do some of my class. Some have passed away, sadly. Some are still around. My grandmother's yearbook is on Ancestry. So there's that.
My mom has her mom's high school annuals from Mobile, Alabama.
What a fantastic project idea, Chris!
