I wanted to share this family photo of Josephine Davis with the community. I am not sure when or where this was taken. She was my 2nd great grandmother.

Amazing you have a tintype. The only one in my family was passed to another relative after the death of my grandparents. I don't know who has it now.

I have a hand full, probably 20 tintypes, many of which I have no idea who they are. I also have 2 in celluloid cases, one of Josephine and one of her husband, my g-g-grandfather, William Clark Davis. I think they were popular during the Civil War era.

Jamie, I have a collection of “unknowns” too, and I hate it. sad

Unknowns are sad in photography. Especially old ones. This is a very impressive photograph not only because it is your family but also the type of picture and the date. Thanks for sharing your family with us.
